July handouts with snack for kids

fold and cut all four files.

"love without judging" girl paper dolls chain
love them without judging them, watch over and strengthen their faith 1 by 1,
establish sincere friendships, visit them in their homes and elsewhere.
There is a few tricks with this one. The directions help, but the bottom of the house
needs the line cut up to the bottom of the dolls dress.

"remember" heart chain
remember - names of their family members, birthdays, graduations, weddings, baptisms and more.

"reach out" hand chain
reach out - to new and less active members, to the lonely or those in need of comfort.

"heart and/or car" kids snacks paper chain
Many of the sisters over the years that I teach have had or have children. I myself often have to take one or more of my kids. So I bring them something that helps occupy their time and also ties into the lesson.

June Visiting Teaching 2012

I'm sure I'll be adding more as the next few days go by but I thought that I would at least put up what I have so far.

Here is the official June Ensign visiting teaching message, pdf.

May Visiting Teaching 2012

This month is difficult. There has been a lot of printables that are amazing that go along with conference. There are so many talks and every sister is so different I decided to print a few of my personal favorite quotes and bought a copy of the April general conference Ensign for each of my sisters.

Thank you Spiritually Thinking for your wonderful poster size prints. They are beautiful and definitely helped me out this month with visiting teaching. Please click image above to download and print quotes from April 2012 general conference.

Here are another three of my fave free printables from by BitsyCreations. Thanks for sharing your stunning printables with the world. I love, love, love them.

Click any of the above images then select your quote(s), download image to your computer and print 4 per page. I printed three different quotes and attached them to my ensign magazine with a paper clip.

Super simple. Enjoy.

April Visiting Teaching 2012

It always starts with the message for me. I read and pray before I begin to create anything to go along with this sacred message. I pull the quotes out of the message and integrate them in handouts and crafts. I invite the spirit as I teach and use my creations for visuals. That will, hopefully, long after I leave the sisters whom I visit will get them to ponder on the words.

It's the spirit that helps them remember, the spirit's powerful. So I always print the actual .pdf message out for each sister, my companion and myself. So while I share the message, they can read along and so can my companion.

the message

Click above image for the pdf. Problems? Just go to here to get to lds.org's April Ensign and print the message out there. If you find the visiting teaching message and click the icon in the download column instead of the title of the message you will get the pdf which is so much prettier. But it takes more ink. So your choice.

So I'm pretty new at sharing. On my computer these pdf's are crisp, but I am seeing that the wildflower seed packets are looking a little grainy. I'm attempting to fix this problem. But thought I'd still just post both handouts for this month right now and fix it later.

All these files are for personal use

Home

My church callings have benefited from my artistic talents throughout the years. One calling that has been consistent is my visiting teaching calling. I help my husband by encouraging him to go home teaching and giving him fun handouts for the kids.

The official church website has a place where you can download and print the current visiting teaching and home teaching message. Click here for the Ensign and make sure you select the correct month. Then you can print the current visiting teaching and or home teaching messages [which is The First Presidency Message] out. If you click the "download" which is of course in the download column far right or which is the little green arrow pointing to a hard-drive icon instead of the title of the message; it gives you the pdf of the page and when you print the message it LOOKS so much better. I always print these out half size, and give a copy to each person I teach.

For home teaching, the first presidency message has a new "youth" and "children" section following the message that is wonderful as an activiy for the children. Be sure to print each child a copy so they can all have the message.

Don't forget while teaching whether it's visiting teaching or home teaching the different ways you can give the material. What I am working on is to not on the way out "Oh and let me share a quick quote from the message" and read a 30 second excerpt. I'm trying to apply the different teaching methods taught in Teaching, No Greater Call [Full Manual].

Now I always have a little more to give, cards, crafts, yummies. But it's all about the church approved material. This secondary fun stuff is just that, stuff. But oh what fun it is to make and what fun it is to share.
